Wimbledon to Pay Men and Women Equally
After years of holding out against equal prize money, Wimbledon yielded to public pressure Thursday and agreed to pay female players as much as male players at the world's most prestigious tennis tournament.

You mean boys and girls both sweat the same? Wow. Who knew?
Amen!
it isn't so much about sweat as about how much of an attraction the athlete is. In tennis the women command as much of an audience as the men so there is no excuse. Now - on the golf!
But, but, but (and do I believe that I might be arguing against a level of equality?) the men do actually play (a maximum of) 5 sets and the women (a maximum of)3.
I'd be happy if they upped the womens games to 5 sets and equalled the prize money. Or dropped the mens to 3 sets.
But somehow it seems a hollow victory getting equal prize money for what is essentially a shorter game.
Not that I'll be playing any tennis this year, let alone at Wimbledon. Phbt.
